We recommend a pre-trip inspection before you head out for the holidays. This ensures that your SUV, car, or truck is road-ready and won’t give you any trouble along your way. The last you want to have to deal with on the road is a breakdown. We will make sure you don’t break down by inspecting your vehicle from the roof to the tires to make sure everything is a-okay.
Battery
One thing we will check is the battery to ensure it is still holding a charge. If your battery is over three years old, it may be time to replace it. The average lifespan of a car battery is three years. You do not want to end up with a dead battery on your trip, so let us inspect the battery and test it to make sure you can count on it while you are away.
Brakes
We will also inspect your brake system. You rely on your brake system without even realizing it. You press down on the brake pedal automatically anytime you need to slow down and stop your vehicle. We will check the brake system to make certain there is plenty of fluid in the system and that the fluid is in good condition. We will also inspect the brake pads, rotors, and calipers.
Fluids
Another thing we will do is inspect all of your vehicle’s fluids and replace those that need it. For example, if your oil needs to be changed, we will change it before you leave. We will also check the coolant, power steering fluid, brake fluid, and so on to ensure you won’t run into trouble. We will also give the belts and hoses the once-over.
Tires
You can go anywhere on bald tires. This is dangerous as a tire could blow out. We will check the tires to see if there is plenty of tread on each tire. We will also check the air pressure to make sure all tires are inflated to the proper PSI. We will also check the spare tire, as it does you no good if you end up with a flat tire if the spare tire is flat, too.
Call us before your holiday travels to schedule an appointment for a pre-trip inspection. We would be happy to inspect your vehicle thoroughly to ensure you can count on it during your trip.
